Mobile App Development
The Energy Technology for Environment Research Center (ETE) specializes in research and knowledge related to energy and the environment using technology as a tool. The center is located within Chiang Mai University, Thailand.
ETE partnered with Thailand’s Ministry of Energy and the Koh Samui Municipality to jointly create an awareness campaign to reduce carbon usage on the island of Koh Samui. Alongside the campaign, they required a tool to engage many people, including Koh Samui residents, government officials, business owners and tourists.
Using the gamification marketing concept, combined with mobile technology, Lanna Softworks created a hybrid cross-platform mobile app called “Samui Eco-Point”. With this app, users were able to collect points by using services from shops, hotels, restaurants that were part of the campaign. They were then able to redeem the points to obtain gifts from the campaign.
Associate Professor Dr. Juggapong Natwichai from Chiang Mai University, responsible for the project, said:
I looked at several options, both in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, before selecting Lanna Softworks for this project. I chose the company because of its quality, professionalism and their capability to deal with our high demands. Lanna Softworks acted with great competency and delivered on time. I would absolutely recommend them to any of my colleagues and business associates.
The project took five months from inception to delivery.
